Recording Sickness
Sickness is its own kind of record in Terio, separate from leave. It never touches a leave balance and never appears on the who’s-off calendar or in a colleague’s view. Only the employee’s own line manager, someone above them, or an admin can see it.
An employee reporting their own sickness
Example query
I'm off sick today
Terio asks whether it’s a full day, half day, or multiple days, confirms, and records it. It then tells the employee this has gone to their manager to verify. It does not count as verified until that happens.
A manager verifying it
Example query
Verify Sam's sickness
Terio asks for confirmation, then tells the manager whether a trigger has been reached and starts the absence steps if so. Only someone in the employee’s own reporting line, their line manager or above, can verify it; the employee cannot verify their own, and a manager outside that line cannot see it at all.
A manager recording it directly
Example query
Record sickness for [name] for [date]
Terio asks whether it is a full day, half day, or multiple days if not specified, then records and verifies it in one step, and reports whether the absence trigger has been reached.
Disability consideration
Before recording certain absence-related sanctions, Terio asks the manager directly whether the absences may be related to a disability or underlying health condition. This is always asked as its own question, never bundled into a general "shall I go ahead?", and Terio records only what the manager actually says, never a guess.
Occupational Health referrals
A referral to Occupational Health can be logged and linked to the absence that prompted it, so it shows in the right place on the employee’s timeline.
