Appeals

Example query

Log an appeal for [name]'s warning, heard by [name] at [firm]

Records an appeal, including one heard by a named external reviewer and their firm.

An appeal is logged by the manager who gave the original outcome, or by an admin. The person hearing it should not have been involved up to the original decision (Terio refuses the investigator or whoever held the review meeting) and should be more senior than the manager who gave the outcome where possible: if they are not, Terio logs it and tells you so.

How Terio resolves an appeal depends on the outcome you give it:

  • Overturned: the sanction is removed. If it had escalated an earlier warning, that earlier warning is restored, provided it hasn’t itself expired.
  • Reduced: Terio asks for the new warning level. The original date on the employee’s timeline is kept, not reset.
  • Increased: same as reduced: the new level is recorded, the original timeline entry stays.
